Introduction to Halifax, Canada
Halifax is a large city, and economic and culture hub, in eastern Canada's province of Nova Scotia. It is located on the opposite side of Halifax Harbour from Dartmouth. Ferries run across the harbour to Alderney Landing on the Dartmouth side. The city is a popular tourist draw and has numerous Halifax hotels that provide services for visitors. The town centre contains a cluster of the properties that are within range of attractions such as Citadel Hill, Fort George, the Atlantic Maritime Museum and Nova Scotia Art Gallery. A varied selection of shops and dining establishments is nearby. The housings provide an excellent base for exploring Nova Scotia's rugged coastline. Coves such as St Margaret's Bay offer sandy beaches, swimming and scenic natural views. Golfers are catered for at the several courses in the vicinity. Long Lake Provincial Park offers hiking paths, fishing, swimming and wildlife. In winter there are opportunities for cross-country skiing.Visit our Halifax Travel Guide
