Introduction to Dryden, Canada
Dryden is a city on Wabigoon Lake in south central Canada. It is on the coast to coast Trans-Canada Highway. Max the Moose, the city's 6m high mascot, informs travellers that they have arrived in the area. Hotels in Dryden provide a comfortable rest stop for drivers on the highway. Most of the accommodations and restaurants are close to the Trans-Canada Highway. The Dryden and District Museum is nearby and contains myriad displays and artifacts. The properties offer a perfect base for exploring the wonderful countryside and lakes just outside the city boundary. Wabigoon Lake offers good fishing and boating. In winter the lake is a favoured destination for snowmobiling and ice fishing. Kenora is 100 km from Dryden and is the next city west on the Trans-Canada Highway. It contains a park called the Harbourfront which is located on the shore of the Lake of the Woods. The Harbourfront is the venue for a number of annual festivals and events. A lake cruise ship departs from the Harbourfront in summer.
