Introduction to Sozopol, Bulgaria
Of all the destinations on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, Sozopol is probably the most popular with Sozopol hotels being among the most highly recommended in this part of the country. In order to reach Sozopol hotels, tourists usually fly from the capital Sofia and then get a connecting flight to Bourgas, from where is less than a 40km drive to the town. Having said this, not all tourists fly and there are plenty of bus routes from domestic cities other than Sofia. While in the town, tourists can walk from their Sozopol hotels and right to the beach where there are a number of activities to be pursued. For the historians among us however, a stroll around the town centre is highly recommended as there are plenty of landmarks and old buildings that have been around for centuries.
