Introduction to Burgas, Bulgaria
The city of Burgas is located on the western shore of Burgas Bay. It is on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coastline. The area boasts a number of sandy beaches and architectural delights as well as a busy port. There is an eclectic selection of Burgas hotels dotted around the city, close to the port and the esplanade, and restaurants, nightlife venues and cultural draws are within walking distance of most accommodations. The magnificent Saint Cyril and Methodius Church, crowned by turrets and spires, is visible from most of the city centre. Charming streets contain a good choice of shops, boutiques and cafes. The Regional Historical Museum, one of several in the city centre, houses eclectic artefacts and displays. The housings are a good base for visiting Lake and its wildlife, or Varna and Sozopol.
