Introduction to Jerudong, Brunei
The city of Jerudong is the third largest in Brunei Darussalam, one of southeast Asia’s tiniest and wealthiest countries. Jerudong’s most famous attraction is the enormous Jerudong Park, larger than Hong Kong Disneyland and the biggest amusement park in Southeast Asia. Therefore, it’s not surprising that most hotels in Jerudong are located very close to Jerudong Park. A number of Jerudong hotels can actually be found on the Jerudong Park grounds, and Jerudong is also home to Brunei’s only five star luxury beachfront resort which overlooks the South China Sea. Unfortunately, for visitors on smaller budgets, most Jerudong hotels can be expensive. The same used to be true throughout Brunei, but today, many more affordable accommodations can be found in the country’s capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan, just a 15kms drive away from Jerudong. BSB, as the capital city’ s name is often shortened, is also home to the only youth hostel in the country of Brunei.
