Bandar Seri Begawan, also known as Bandar or BSB, is the magical capital of Brunei in the northern central part of Borneo Island. Dominating the central city's skyline is the resplendent, golden-dome Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, which is open to non-Muslim visitors outside prayer time and is one of the most spectacular mosques in the Asia Pacific. The city is wonderfully under-visited considering its many gilded structures and objects - a few mosques and a museum's showpieces of the Sultan's royal regalia - and gorgeous riverside setting.
