Sao Bento do Sul is a small town situated in southeast Brazil. It is part of Santa Catarina State and is about 60kms inland from Joinville and the country’s Atlantic coast. The town boasts a spacious and charming town centre, which contains a number of Sao Bento do Sul hotels. Numerous examples of well preserved colonial architecture are dotted around the town. Pure Heart of Mary Church is perched on a hill overlooking the town. Its twin spires provide a good directional landmark. Sao Bento do Sul hotels are within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. The Felippe Maria Wolff Municipal Museum, one of three town museums, contains an eclectic collection of indigenous and pioneer's artefacts. The picturesque Parque 23 de Setembro is in the middle of town. There are additional Sao Bento do Sul hotels outside the town that offer easy access to the area's magnificent countryside. Waterfalls, mountains and trekking trails are in the immediate vicinity of Sao Bento do Sul. Due to its reasonably high altitude the town offers a cooler climate than coastal districts.
