Introduction to Ouro Preto, Brazil
Ouro Preto is a historic city in the eastern Brazil's Minas Gerais State. It is in the Serra do Espinhaco mountain range and translates into English as black gold. It was at centre of the country's 18th century gold rush and many of Ouro Preto's ornate Baroque edifices were constructed at this time. The region features an eclectic choice of hotels in Ouro Preto, which are spread throughout it. The city is not too big and so most of its restaurants, shops and attractions are within walking distance of the establishments. The restaurants offer various cuisines, dishes include the ubiquitous pizza. Shops sell local handicrafts, semi-precious stones and antiques. Saint Francis of Assisi Church and its twin bell towers are one of numerous architectural gems spread around the town. The town is built on hillsides and so some of the loftier buildings offer panoramic views. The accommodations on the east side of town are convenient for reaching the art museum.other spellings: ouro pertohotels, ouro perto otel, ouro purto hotell, hote ouro purto, ouro purto hotle
