Introduction to Ilheus, Brazil
Ilheus is an attractive seaside city located in the middle of Brazil's eastern Atlantic coastline. It boasts stunning beaches, old Portuguese buildings and excellent dining and nightlife venues. There is a good choice of Ilheus hotels in the city with several in the environs of Avenue Soares Lopes. Praia do Cristo and Praia da Avenida are the two town beaches, and are a quick walk from the central properties. They have barracas selling snacks and beverages. The statue of Jesus Christ indicates the way to Praia do Cristo.
