Introduction to Curitiba - Cidade Industrial
In Brazil's remote Parana State, Cidade Industrial serves as an industrial bedroom community for the capital Curitiba just to the north. Most of the visitors who pass through this unremarkable suburb are on their way to Brazil's legendary Iguacu Falls from Rio de Janiero or Sao Paulo. There is no real reason to stop over here since the notably more pleasant city of Curitiba is just a few minutes away. There are, however, a clutch of Cidade Industrial hotels on hand for travellers who need them. The town itself contains the usual mix of Brazilian restaurants, drinking establishments and local shops. Several excellent public parks are located just to the west of Cidade Industrial, including Parque dos Tropieros and Parque Diadema. These spacious green areas are ideal for walks, biking or just hanging out in the verdant countryside of Parana State. A massive lake is also just to the west of town, providing a spot for water recreation and activities.
