Introduction to Buzios - City Centre
Buzios is one of Brazil's most popular resort destinations. Located on the eastern coast of Brazil, Buzios was originally a hide-out for pirates and it still boasts some of the most beautiful, secluded beaches in Rio de Janeiro, about 20 in all. Some Buzios hotels are located in the city centre, but most are along the coast, with breathtaking views. The main thoroughfare in the city centre is the 1,200 foot long Rua das Pedras or Stone Street, made of flagstones, where there is shopping for handmade crafts, restaurants, cafes and bars. This street is the central meeting point for locals and visitors alike. The city area is crammed full of appealing colonial style architecture and features Santa Rita church, with its Chapel of Our Lady.
