Introduction to Buzios - Beach
Set along the northern coastline of Brazil's Rio de Janeiro State, the unique fishing town of Buzios is well set up as a popular visitor destination. Located 170kms from Rio itself, it's a two to three-hour drive from the big city's international airport. The town square is the heart of the resort, lined with restaurants, shops selling everything from fashion to food and cafes and bars, all of which stay open until the early hours. Buzios Beach hotels offer everything from comfortable to luxury accommodation with great sea and harbour views, good seafood eateries and discos with live music. The centre of town is just a short stroll from the harbour and is good for people-watching or chatting with the friendly locals. Over 20 beautiful beaches are in the vicinity, with the town's most famous visitor, Brigitte Bardot, still holidaying here occasionally. Over the last 10 years or so, the harbour has become a popular call for cruise ships.
