Brugge (Bruges) Travel Guide - Activities

Theatre: seeing any of the varied performances at the Bruges Concert Hall is an experience in itself, not least because the building is in itself worth a visit. The unusual cavernous, red building hosts over 100 performances per year from Jazz to the visual arts.
Eating out: with so much wonderful, seafood, beer and chocolate on offer, Bruges is a city in which eating out is all part of the experience, whether its mussels, chips and mayonnaise, or fine oysters served straight out of the sea. For a truly authentic Belgian meal, hit one of the old taverns for a glass of beer and a traditional Belgian lunch, a cheap and tasty meal that hasn’t changed much in hundreds of years.
Film: another cultural highlight in Bruges is the film scene. The city has a number of cinemas, including the Cinema Lumiere which shows alternative and art house films. A number of multiplexes are also operating in the city. The Film festival Cinema Novo held in March each year focuses on Asia, Africa and Latin America.
