Capital of the French speaking section of Belgium, Namur, is located about 60kms from Brussels. This is a large city and hotels in Namur are fairly well spread out with the more select being centrally located. Due to its size the attractions of the city are not easy to discover on foot. Many Namur hotels will hire out bicycles and despite the many cobbled streets it is a good way to get around. There are several attractions worth visiting with the main two being the citadel on the hillside adjacent to the River Meuse and the Sisters of Notre Dame convent displaying the treasure of Hugo d'Oignies. Visitors can while away a few hours at the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Old Namurois Art and much of the old French-style city is quite stunning. Hotels in Namur provide a convenient place to stay for those wanting to explore the Wallonia district.
