Introduction to Liege - City Centre
Liege is the fourth most populated city in the Western European nation of Belgium. It may be smaller than Antwerp or Brussels, but Liege certainly adds an interesting dynamic to the tourism sector of Belgium. As a result, hotels in Liege are in abundance. There are many mid-range hotels, with a majority of these located in city centre. This is not at all surprising as many of the town’s most historically significant attractions are found in the city. The Palace of Prince-Bishops, Saint Barthelemy Church, the Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame and the Town Hall located around Market Square are just a few of the landmarks in the city centre of Liege. With a number of hotels in Liege found nearby, these sites are usually the first to be explored by visitors. The city does have its own small airport, but most international visitors fly into Brussels Airport first and then arrive into the city by train.
