Introduction to Brussels - Woluwe Saint Lambert
Surrounded by a host of parks and lakes, Woluwe Saint Lambert is an attractive part of Brussels on the eastern edge of the city centre. A wealthy residential area on the Woluwe River, the district features a number of historical sights including Lindekemale watermill and Slot castle, both of which have now become restaurants. Traditional Flemish style windmills can also be viewed in the area. The main church here is a Romanesque tower dating back nearly 900 years, which together with the Chapel of Marie la Miserable represents the oldest architecture in Woluwe Saint Lambert. The most impressive structure is, however, Chateau Malou, a superb 230-year-old neoclassical building in Malou Park that holds regular exhibitions and other events. The majority of Woluwe Saint Lambert hotels are well-positioned close to the roundabout at Station Montgomery, which is on a main thoroughfare heading to the centre of Brussels.Visit our Brussels Travel Guide
