Introduction to Brussels - Louise Avenue
Louise Avenue is one of the major streets in the city of Brussels, Belgium. This thoroughfare was constructed in 1847 and is lined with towering chestnut trees, trendy boutiques and unique mansions. People staying in hotels in Brussels will no doubt enjoying simply wandering up and down the length of the Louise Avenue, which is known as Louizalaan in Dutch and Avenue Louise in French. It is famous for being the site of the headquarters of the Gestapo during WWII when the Nazis invaded Belgium, but now Brussels Louis Avenue boast a plethora of posh shops, swanky restaurants and trendy office spaces. Louise Square at the north end of the avenue is where visitors will find the metro station and tramway. The city’s Law Courts are also in walking distance from here.
