Introduction to Brussels - Botanical Garden
Now close to 190 years old, the imperious Brussels Botanical Garden by famous early 19th architect Tilman-Francois Suys is more a cultural exhibition than a park. Featuring a host of statues by French and Belgium sculptors such as Victor Rousseau and Julien Dillens, it's one of the artistic highlights of the city, with an attractive pavilion. The most impressive flora here is the collection of large trees species, many centuries old. The garden has its own metro station of the same name, which makes it straightforward to visit. The garden is situated close to the city centre and the main overland station of Brussels Nord. Within a short walk of the garden are other major tourism attractions, including the impressive Grand Palace and the Royal Circus as well as the Museum of Musical Instruments. Botanical Garden hotels are dotted all around the northern periphery and by Gillon metro station, many with excellent views of the garden itself.Visit our Brussels Travel Guide
