Introduction to Bouillon, Belgium
Bouillon is a small town of around 5,500 people, located in Belgium's Walonia region. It is part of Luxembourg Province, not to be confused with the neighbouring country of the same name. Much of the commercial activity centres on the modern town centre, on the banks of the River Semois. Many Bouillon hotels are located on the riverside, while travellers can also find the main square in the centre of town. In addition, there are several surrounding villages which make up the municipality. Much of the area outside the centre is lush forest, popular with walkers and nature lovers alike. Other natural attractions include Giant's Grave (Tombeau du Geant), a large mound on a river bend, surrounded by steep hills. However, the town's biggest attraction is Bouillon Castle, whose elevated position means it overlooks the rest of the town. Historical archives first mentioned this medieval castle in 988 AD, but it is thought to have been built much earlier. Travellers can get here by driving south from Brussels for around 100 miles, taking the E411.other spellings: bullonhotels, boiron otel, bouillon hotell, builion hote, bulon hotes, bollon hotle
