Hepatitis A vaccine is recommended, as it is with almost all countries, while Hepatitis B vaccinations are left up to the discretion of the traveller and would only be required for a long and intimate stay in the country.
Tourists must take extreme precautions to avoid heat exhaustion and dehydration, especially when travelling to Bahrain between April and September. Take sunglasses, a brimmed hat, light cotton clothing with long sleeves and plenty of sunscreen and moisturiser.
Hospitals and clinics are few in number but then Bahrain is a tiny archipelago with a population of about three-quarters of a million people. The country has modern equipment capable of dealing with any medical emergency as well as just about any other country and staff is well trained, so you have little to worry about.
