Getting There

Getting to Salzburg
By rail: Salzburg has extensive rail connections, with regular east-west trains that service Innsbruck, Munich, Vienna and Zurich; including twice-daily high-speed InterCityExpress, commonly known as ICE services. You can easily get to Salzburg from Munich on a two-hour train ride. The city also acts as a centre for south-bound trains through the Alps into Italy.
By car: located 150 kms east of Munich, and 300 kms west of Vienna, Salzburg can be conveniently accessible via car from all directions. You can take autobahn the A10 from the south, the A8 from the west and the A1 from the east. Route 20 services the west and the north of the city while towns and cities from the southeast are connnected by route 159.
