Introduction to Zell am See - Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrasse
Lake Zell is a picturesque site in the Austrian Alps, 50kms south of Salzburg. Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrass is a small town just south of the lake that is the perfect base for visitors to the district. Visitors using Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrasse hotels can easily reach Pinzgau ski stations, the lake and other sports venues. The town is at the north end of the scenic Grossglockner High Alpine Route, which traverses the local area of the Alps as far as Heiligenblut. Driving the route offers fabulous views of tall peaks and the Pasterze Glacier. There is a golf course situated just outside town. Among other activities in the district for sports aficionados are summer tobogganing, horseback riding and climbing. The lake itself offers boating and swimming. Chalet-style restaurants dotted around town and on the surrounding Alpine slopes offer local dishes such as pork knuckle and Wiener schnitzel. In winter, the apres-ski venues here are among the busiest in the region. other spellings: bruck an der grossglocknerstrassehotels, bruck an der grossglocknerstras otel
