Introduction to Vocklabruck, Austria
Located on the banks of the River Vockla, Vocklabruck is located in the Upper Austria region and is a district capital. It is among the top-10 Austrian destinations in terms of visitor numbers. Its tourist popularity mainly stems from its distance from the Salzkammergut, Austria's lake district. In fact, the town is just seven miles from the nearest lake, Attersee. Visitors flock to these lakes during the summer months, when sailing and swimming are among the most popular activities. However, guests staying at Vocklabruck hotels also have the chance to visit some of the town centre's ancient attractions. The biggest attraction is the town square's tower, which hosts art dating back to the 1500s. St Giles' Church is also worth a visit, built in the Baroque style in the late 1600s.
