Introduction to Vienna - Wieden
The central area in Vienna’s Wieden is the Karlsplatz, a large square that tourists like to visit. It has the Karlskirche Church, one of Vienna's famous Baroque churches, on one side and a beautiful fountain in the middle that visitors like to congregate around. The Wien Museum, which explains the history of Vienna to its visitors through interesting displays, also sits on this square. The biggest food market in Vienna is just around the corner from the Karlsplatz. Besides cheap fruit and vegetables, Naschmarkt sells food from exotic countries. Complementing these attractions are a range of Baroque churches and one of the city’s finest Art Nouveau buildings, Radiokulturhaus, where the Austrian public broadcast services are located. There are also some pleasant little cafes to warm up in on a cold day.
