Introduction to Vienna - Neubau & Mariahilf
The Vienna district of Neubau & Mariahilf has a reputation for being artsy, especially in the eastern part. The Academy of Fine Arts, surrounded by many smaller art galleries that exhibit works by local artists, is located here. This part of the city was once frequented by Mozart, who debuted the Magic Flute in the Theater an der Wein, a building which has now been turned into an opera house.
