Introduction to Vienna - Landstrasse
The north of Vienna Landstrasse is directly connected to the city centre, and many of the city's primary tourist attractions spread out into this district. The most famous attraction is the St Marxer Friedhof cemetery, which is where Mozart is buried. The Rabenhof Theatre is also located in this district. The area has a strong theatrical tradition dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, but nowadays it mostly has cabaret shows on a nightly basis. In terms of museums, there is a venue dedicated to Austrian military history called the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum. The National Art Gallery is housed in the Belvedere Palace, also in Landstrasse. The area is well known for its Baroque buildings including a number of churches in this style of architecture. Landstrasse hotels are generally well-facilitated considering this is one of the more sought-after areas in the city in which to stay. Visit our Vienna Travel Guide
