Introduction to Saint Polten, Austria
Home to nearly 50,000 people, the city of Saint Polten is the capital of the state of Lower Austria. It is also the most significant city in the region, although many locals and visitors believe it is not an overly important tourist city for the state or Austria. Regardless, there are draws in the city that make it worthwhile to visit. Saint Polten hotels in this part of Lower Austria's southwestern region, nestled between the magnificent Alps and the world famous Wachu landscape and near the picturesque River Traisen, are here in abundance. The A1 highway runs directly through the centre of town, and there is also a train line with daily connections to Austria's capital city of Vienna. The city boasts several museums, with the most visited being the Lower Austrian State Museum and the City Museum of Saint Polten. Klangturn Tower is the city's main landmark, offering perfect views of the cityscape at day or evening. It is commonly referred to as the Tower of Sounds. The weekly market in the Domplatz area is where visitors can purchase flowers, local candy and many other products.other spellings: st poltenhotels, st polten otel, st polten hotell, st. polten hote, saint polten hotles
