Koflach is a small city in the Styria region of Austria. Historically, the town's economy has focused on heavy industries, particularly mining. As the town has looked to become more focused on services, small numbers of tourists have begun to find their way here. It's easy to get to Koflach. There are regular trains from Styria's capital, Graz, as well as Voitsburg, the capital of the surrounding district. Alternatively, guests with their own vehicles can drive here on the B70 from Graz or Villach. Presently, there are few interesting attractions in the city centre. Most visitors head straight for the village of Piber, two miles to the north. Here, the Piber Federal Stud farm allows visitors to watch horses train in the arena, visit the horses' stables, as well as ride in a horse-pulled carriage around the farm. Many of the activities here are family-orientated. Guests staying at Koflach hotels are also well-placed for visiting the House of Art and Culture, which hosts interesting exhibitions.
