Introduction to Kitzbuhel - Kirchberg in Tirol
Kirchberg in Tirol is a fairytale-like town sited amid the Kitzbuhel Alps, in northwest Austria. The town is only five kilometres from the famed medieval city of Kitzbuhel, at the heart of one of Europe's most famed ski areas. In the valley, there are more than 50 ski-lifts and cable cars which give access to 170kms of downhill ski slopes and 40kms of cross-country ski trails. There is a fantastic selection of Kirchberg in Tirol hotels, but these properties soon fill up at the height of the ski season. In summer, visitors come to the town for the vistas as well as the mountain biking and hiking. The 16th century Holy Ulrich Church is one of many fine buildings in town. Due to the abundance of holiday accommodation here, there are lots of restaurants and apres-ski establishments. On the road to Kitzbuhel, there is a popular golf course and the Schwarzsee.
