Katschberg is one of the most renowned names in all of Austria. This market city may not have a large population, an enormous city centre, or ancient sites, but it contains one of Austria's best ski resorts. The city is found upon the Katschberg Highway, close to the well-known Katschberg Pass alpine tunnel. The local ski area is very high-end, with most Katschberg hotels in the area boasting four or five stars. Altogether, the city's ski resort runs are a lengthy 60kms long. Despite the city's fame for its awesome ski slopes, there are many other things visitors can do to keep themselves busy. Restaurants and cafes provide easy atmospheres for guests. Also, there are plenty of festivals and events held throughout the year that celebrate the folklore and traditional culture of the region. Some of the most popular events are the Katschtaler Trachtenkapelle music concerts, which highlight the best traditional music of Carinthia State. It is easy to get to the city as the A10 is only a few hundred metres from the settlement.
