Introduction to Innsbruck - Hotting
Hotting is the district that is adjacent to Kranebitten Airport, the principal air gateway to Innsbruck and west Austria. During the winter ski season, the airport sees flight arrivals from all parts of Europe. Hotting hotels provide a convenient stopover point for arriving passengers before they travel to any one of the many ski resorts in the Tyrol region. The district is a few hundred metres from the east end of the runway. Tram stops serve the south side of the district while the E60 motorway, which runs along the River Inn, passes the area just beyond the southern edge of Hotting. The district has a fair choice of eateries where Wiener schnitzel and tasty cakes are among the menu items. The city's botanical gardens are located in the district and house eclectic species including orchids and cacti. The nearest ski slopes to Hotting are slightly north at Nordkette.
