Introduction to Innsbruck - Airport
The city of Innsbruck is set in a valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Innsbruck Airport is located only a short distance from the city centre, meaning visitors arriving here will be close to all the major attractions. Facilities at the airport, which offers connections to other cities in Europe as well as Russian and Israeli destinations, include ATMs and left luggage. In the immediate vicinity of the airport, there is very little to see or do, although most are impressed with the vast mountains that surround the area. The Wipptal River flows elegantly to the south of the airport. Innsbruck Airport hotels are more functional than luxurious, built to accommodate those in transit rather than long-stay tourists. It is recommended that tourists head into the centre upon arriving at the airport, which can be done by taking a Line F bus. In the city proper, visitors will be presented with many buildings that were constructed at the height of the Holy Roman Empire.Visit our Innsbruck Travel Guide
