Introduction to Graz, Austria
Graz, in the south east of Austria, was the European Capital of Culture in 2003 just four years after gaining a place on UNESCO∈s World Heritage register. Visitors should book their hotels in Graz within walking distance of the Old Town that gained the city its place on the register. By doing so it’s narrow lanes, squares, magnificent building, galleries and museums can easily be explored on foot. Graz hotels are generally of a good standard and because there is a wide choice there are some bargains to be found. Graz is not only a historic city. Recent years have seen the construction of some contemporary new public buildings including the island in the Mur (Murinsel), an island made of steel sitting in the river, and the house of modern art (Kunsthaus). The hotels in Graz reflect the diversity of this university city and cater for all tastes with good choices available in most areas.other spellings: gras hotell, graz hote, otel in graz, grazhotels, graaz hotes
