The Art Gallery of Western Australia: has an impressive collection of modern and classical paintings. Artwork on display includes Aboriginal art, wood carving and many other interesting items.
Northbridge. Open: 10:00 to 17:00, daily.
The Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts: houses contemporary and student art pieces. There are usually performances held here in the evenings. The best place to check on events would be to call the centre itself.

Western Australian Medical Museum: was built in 1895 and was the first maternity hospital in Perth. The hospital has now been converted into a museum and is called Harvey House. Visitors can learn about the history of the medical practice in Australia including gaining insights into nursing, dentistry, early doctoring and the famous Royal Flying Doctor Service. Interesting displays include a 1930s operating theatre and an iron lung.

Western Australian Museum: is one of the largest museums in Western Australia and has an extensive collection of more than two million artefacts and specimens on display. The primary exhibitions include the Katta Djinoong display that concentrates on Western Australia's Aboriginal heritage and bird, butterfly, marine, mammal and dinosaur galleries. Visitors can also see the Old Perth Gaol which is located on site and has frequently changing exhibits.
