Getting There

Getting to Launceston
By air: Launceston airport is just 10 miles from the city and transfers can be made by the Tasmanian Shuttle Bus or by taxis. Car hire can also be arranged with one of the many operators found in the terminal building. There are four daily flights to Melbourne during the week and two on the weekends. Other routes include Sydney and Brisbane.
By car: Launceston can be reached easily from Hobart by taking the Midlands Highway or the more scenic Tasman Highway. From Devonport and Burnie you should take the Bass Highway.
By ferry: Vehicular ferries cruise regularly from Port Melbourne in Victoria to Devonport in Tasmania. There are nightly sailings in both directions and a daily sailing during the peak period.
