It is possible to enjoy the country at any time of the year because of its year round temperate conditions. Summers in many places, especially Perth and Melbourne, can be quite hot while Brisbane and the Gold Coast usually experience milder temperatures. Winters in Sydney and Melbourne are usually cold and wet, yet in Perth, winter is a lovely time to visit.
Australia has more beaches that in any other part of the world and many are stunningly beautiful with golden sands and clear blue water. It is also internationally acclaimed for being a surfer’s paradise and many surfers flock here to participate in competitions.
The Northern Territory is home to Darwin, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock. This area is not very populated and still retains much of its wilderness and so is perfect for exploring. A more popular tourist destination is Queensland, in north eastern Australia, which is home to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
You will find many places of interest to visit including forest reserves, national parks, sanctuaries, amusement parks and of course exceptional beaches. Queensland is also home to the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest reef. Sydney, the largest city in Australia, is located in New South Wales. The region has wonderful coastlines, stunning beaches, famous surf breaks, gorges and canyons.
Western Australia covers one third of the country and is home to Perth. Although Perth is a modern city, much of the state is still in a ‘frontier’ condition and is very interesting to visit.
There are ample opportunities for young and old, adventurous and the more laid back personalities to enjoy their holiday in Australia. There are countless opportunities to enjoy water sports, trekking, bush walking, mountain biking, tandem sky diving, bungee diving, horse riding, golfing, swimming or simply visiting spas and shopping. When the long days are over, there are plenty of restaurants and an exciting nightlife to be enjoyed.
