Hobart Travel Guide - Getting There
By air: Hobart is served by Hobart International Airport, which is located 15kms away from the city centre. The airport offers connections between Hobart and Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane. The only regular international flights are to and from Christchurch in New Zealand.
The airport is fully equipped with facilities for passengers. There are big, comfortable lounge areas as well as internet facilities, ATMs, postal services, telephones, bars, restaurants and newsagents. Shuttle bus services are provided for transportation into the city, leaving from the bus terminal. You will also find countless taxis waiting at the taxi rank outside the Arrivals terminal.
By bus: buses are available to take you to and from most major towns around the state. Journeys can be quite arduous, but buses are comfortable and air-conditioned and refreshments are usually provided.
