The Heiser Gallery: houses a good collection of works by Australian artists from the 1920s to the present day. Artists include John Aland, Tom Alberts, Jane Burton, Celeste Chandler, Geoffrey De Grœen, Michael Eather, Louise Forthun and Graham Fransella. The gallery changes its display and themes regularly.

Queensland Art Gallery: is a part of the Queensland Cultural Centre and located in the South Bank area, adjacent to the Queensland Museum. It is one of the most famous cultural attractions and has a collection of interesting items including Aboriginal, European and Asian artworks.
South Bank, South Brisbane. Open: 10:00 to 17:00, daily.
Woodworks Museum: takes visitors through the history of the timber industry and its social history through interesting displays including pioneering hand tools and demonstrations.
Fraser Road, Gympie. Open: 09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday; 13:00 to 16:00, Sunday.
Queensland Museum: was founded in 1862 and has an extensive display of different items that document the history of Queensland. The varied display includes the skeleton of the humpback whale, a pioneer’s aviator airplane and several other interesting items.
