Art Gallery of South Australia: this gallery is housed in a magnificent historic building and boasts one of the country’s best art collections. The exhibition consists of European art from the 15th to the 20th century, the largest Australian art display which includes early oil paintings, watercolours, sculptures, silver, furniture and Aboriginal art.

The Classic Jets Fighter Museum: is home to several jet aircraft used by the Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Australian Navy. Many of the aircrafts were built between 1950 and 1980 and include the F8 Gloster Meteor A77-867, DH Sea Venom WZ-939 and Avon Sabre A94-974. There is also a well restored Mirage on display.

Ayers House Museum: the museum is located in a colonial mansion and depicts Victorian domestic life, the social history of this period and the life and accomplishments of Sir Henry Ayers. Exhibits include a collection of historic costumes, silver, artwork and furniture.

Adelaide Gaol and Historic Museum: the gaol was officially opened in 1841 and closed about 147 years later. Visitors will be intrigued by the air of mystery that surrounds the original cellblocks built in 1841 and the newer blocks built in 1879, the hanging tower, exercise yards, the canteen at the old gaol, the watchtower and the graves of convicts.
In the gift shop you can have a mug shot and your fingerprints taken as well as buy lots of souvenirs.
