Situated north of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, North Sydney is close to the heart of the city as well as the central business district. As a result, it's very much a working part of the city, meaning pubs here are usually packed to the rafters with office workers on Friday evenings but extremely quiet at the weekends. In fact, many shops are closed here on Saturdays and Sundays. North Sydney hotels are generally upmarket given they mostly draw business people and those looking for somewhere a little cheaper than the options in the nearby CBD. However, most have great views and in terms of location, they could not be better situated for getting around Sydney.
