Introduction to Sydney - Mascot
Mascot is a suburb in the southeast of Sydney, Australia. The suburb is well known for hosting Sydney Airport, the only international airport in the city. It is also considered to be the administrative centre of Botany Bay, the site of Captain Cook's first landing in 1770. Given their proximity to the airport, Mascot hotels are most useful for those departing on early or late flights. Some of these hotels are located within walking distance of Mascot's CityRail station on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line. This line allows guests to travel directly to the city centre by train. The airport also has its own stations from where trains to the city are more expensive. Guests staying in the area have easy access to several local attractions. There are a number of small parks either side of Botany Road, while cyclists can join the path which starts at Coward Street. This path stretches as far as the neighbouring suburb of Arncliffe, on the other side of the airport.Visit our Sydney Travel Guide
