Introduction to Sydney - Manly
Out on a limb some 10kms from the centre of Sydney, Manly is a suburb in its own right with excellent beaches dotted around a number of coves and inlets popular for swimming, surfing and sailing. Oceanworld is a popular attraction here with its shark diving experience that allows visitors a chance to get up close and personal with some of Australia's deadliest sea creatures. Out of the water, there are plenty of other things to see and do here. Manly's Quarantine Station offers spooky ghost tours and there is also an art museum with historic photographs of the area and beach memorabilia. Manly hotels are numerous and mostly close to the water, plus there are a few that make for a perfect Sydney splurge that don't come cheap.
