This hotel is Australia's most exclusive Wilderness Lodge with individual tree house chalets and fine dining. Casual dress, walking shoes, camera and Insect Repellant are a must. A complimentary transfer is provided daily to and from Port Douglas. Guests can use this service to visit Port Douglas for the day for shopping or for lunch. Children 12 years and under are not catered for at Silky Oaks.
The timber Treehouse Chalets (rooms) are medium in size and surrounded by lush gardens. They have a tropical feel to it and most have a queen-size bed. They are in a good condition, along with the bathrooms. There are no TV's here, to help guests leave the outside world behind.
Restaurant:
The restaurant has an open design, allowing the ambience of the rainforest to flow through. Picnic baskets are also available. Afternoon tea is available in the lounge or Jungle Perch located above Mossman River Gorge, affording great views of the Daintree rainforest.
