Introduction to Scamander, Australia
Each summer, tourists flock to the Tasmanian seaside town of Scamander to enjoy its stunning ocean views, outstanding beaches and range of outdoor activities. The town is located at a river mouth in the northeast of the island, with built-up areas on both the north and south banks. On the north bank, the River Golf Club offers opportunities for golfers to improve their handicap. The river itself is popular with fishermen angling for bream, while the ocean appeals to both surfers and swimmers. There is even a surf school in the south of the town. The Tasman Highway forms the town's main thoroughfare and is lined with shops, restaurants and Scamander hotels. Guests staying here have the chance to visit Eureka Farm, around three kilometres west of the town centre. This scenic attraction allows visitors to feed the farmyard animals, pick their own fruit or just stroll through the orchard. Guests can reach Scamander by taking a bus from Hobart, courtesy of Tassielink.
