Introduction to Rockingham, Australia
Rockingham is a town of around 85,000 inhabitants in Western Australia, at around 45kms south of the state capital, Perth. This large and expanding town is rapidly becoming a popular seaside resort due to its safe, sandy beaches. The calm waters of Cockburn and Warnbro Sounds are perfect for numerous water sports, including windsurfing, sailing and diving. There are also many beautiful offshore islands featuring picturesque coves, sculpted limestone rocks and reefs ideal for snorkelling and diving. For those who are not water sport enthusiasts, there are plenty other attractions with which to keep occupied. The town has good shopping facilities, horseback riding and many recommended restaurants. Nearby, there are a number of wineries for those who fancy a mid-afternoon tipple, and a wildlife park.
