Introduction to Port Douglas - Craiglie
Craiglie is a medium-sized town in the far north of Queensland, Australia. The nearest big town is Port Douglas, a couple of miles further north. The town is located right on the main Captain Cook Highway, with easy access to other destinations in the north and the south. The biggest nearby attraction is Daintree National Park, around 20 miles further north. In addition, it's a useful stop for those heading offshore to the Great Barrier Reef, with tourist cruises leaving from Port Douglas and incorporating snorkelling or diving. A little less than 6,000 people live in the town, meaning that several Craiglie hotels are open for business. The nearest airport is in Cairns, around an hour's drive to the south. On arrival at the airport, visitors can hire a car or take a shuttle van in the direction of Port Douglas.
