Introduction to Perth - Ascot
The naturally-blessed Ascot, an Australian suburb of Perth, shares its name with the city's most famous racecourse in its location just eight kilometres east of the city centre. The racecourse appears just as majestic as when it was first constructed more than a century ago and, during the summer racing season, visitors can enjoy nine outdoor bars and dining facilities. All of these restaurants provide perfect views of the racecourse's two kilometre long track. The sporting facility may be the main attraction for many guests at Ascot hotels, but it is certainly not the only green place people can enjoy in this neighbourhood immediately north of the city airport. Many relaxing parks lie directly across the Swan River from this neighbourhood, including the Sandy Beach riverside reserve, Riverside Gardens and Garvey Park.
