Introduction to Noosa - Noosa Heads
Noosa Heads is one of three major towns in this part of the Sunshine Coast. However, Noosa Heads is the one which most caters to visiting tourists. There are plenty of Noosa Heads hotels and restaurants to choose from, particularly around Hastings Street, which runs along the coastline. The town borders a national park which has a significant koala population. There is a great walk through the park starting from the coastal path. Visitors can get maps from the information centre, while the full walk, returning on Tanglwood track, takes around two hours. However, the town's beaches are still the biggest attraction, appealing particularly to surfing enthusiasts. The town even hosts its own headline surfing contest each year. Travellers can get here by flying to Sunshine Coast Airport and completing the journey by road. The airport is just 20 miles to the south. On the other hand, the town's bus station is centrally located and well-served by services from across the Sunshine Coast.
