Introduction to Nanango, Australia
A popular destination among both weekenders and day-trippers, Nanango is a southeast Queensland town that is rich in industrial history and fascinating architecture. The best place to learn about the town's history is Ringsfield House, first built in 1908. Nowadays, it is home to a museum and a base for the local historical society. At one time, agriculture, mining and forestry were the mainstays of the local economy, now remembered by a number of murals and sculptures which depict those times. Guests staying at Nanango hotels have the chance to undertake a number of daytrips into the surrounding countryside. The Bunya Mountains, where visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking and camping before stopping off to enjoy the area's waterfalls, are around one hour's drive from the town centre. Accommodation in Nanango can get crowded at times since a large number of festivals and events are held here. These include the Criterium Bike Race (February), the Arts Festival (June) and the Country Music Muster (September). other spellings: nanangohotels, otelin manango, nananog hotell, nanagno hote, nannago hotle
