Located one hour's drive from Adelaide, on the main route to Melbourne, Murray Bridge is a popular destination among tourists looking for a taste of rural South Australia. It is a convenient stop on the train route between the two state capitals. As the name suggests, the town is situated on the banks of the Murray River and was originally established to serve the nearby farming areas. Most of the town's commercial activity can be found on Bridge Street, including shops, restaurants and Murray Bridge hotels.
